![]() Episode 07 - Battle of souls. The Elements disappear! A pale figure entered the boiler room beneath the Academy. Steam curled around her, filling the room with unbearable heat, yet the young girl seemed unaffected. The only light in the room caught her raven-black hair lending it a tint of red. Her eyes narrowed with a crazed gleam and a devil’s smile caressed her lips as she thought of her enemies. After all this time she finally knew the identity of the female soldiers whom always got in her way. They had managed to distract her from her true mission long enough but now she had them. She could take them out in their sleep at any time. They were at her mercy and were not even aware of it. It couldn't have been more perfect. She moved to a chair in the far corner of the room and sat down. The sizzle sound of the perspiration on her skin as it touched the hot surface was ignored as the Kyoko continued her thoughts. Her annoyance grew as she realized how close she was to her goal and yet something continually held her back. Not just soldiers, who pathetically fought her at every turn, but something more. When she first entered her consciousness, first remembered herself as a human, she did not know what her mission was. She had bumbled around led by some great force inside of her, driving her to her destiny. Life around her seemed as if it could easily be plucked, each creature giving off an energy, which could feed her. Dark creatures soon began to appear to her, and she found not only could she control them but create them, as well.
Now her existence had a purpose but still an unnamed strength held her back, as if it wanted her to play the story out more. An ending of pleasure she could only enjoy after her mission was complete teased the fringes of her mind. Her eyes slammed shut tightly as her mind filled with the image of an ethereal beauty with golden blond hair. A princess she longed for knowing full well she could not be her prince. Frustrated, her eyes flew open and she gritted her teeth. Creatures that emerged from the shadows took a step back as she stood to her feet. She looked to the ceiling, as her black hair whirled about her face. Why did she waste her time with thoughts of that girl?
The female soldiers who attended the Planet Academy plowed their way through the Friday afternoon lunch crowd. They traveled the halls of the school searching each room for some sign of a teacher named Kurio. The time flew and their search came to an end when they realized bells had just sounded to mark the end of lunch. Reluctantly, the girls hurried in different directions to their next class. During their last hour in school, each girl kept their minds occupied wondering about their next move. Even Pepper could not pay attention to her studies, as potential plans filled her thoughts. Thank goodness we’ll have time off. A long holiday weekend is just the chance we need to search without interruption. Bunny sat in her computer class absently tapping at the keyboard with her short fingernails. She watched her old conspirator, Takashi, with concern. He hadn't been the same since what had happened that night but she could not confront him about it, not yet. He looked up and his eyes met hers. Quickly, he pushed his glasses up with his finger and turned from her. She lowered her head forlornly. "I guess he's taking this pretty well," Bunny thought to herself. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp voice, "Kinn-san, Kyoichi-san, please stay after class. I must have a word with you two."
"Kinn-san, please be silent." With the teacher’s harsh words, Bunny became frighteningly quiet. Takashi quickly glanced at the girl before turning back to the teacher. "A few nights back someone broke, hacked if you will, into the school's computer files. This is punishable by expulsion yet no one has been honest enough to turn their selves in. All the teachers have been notified and are looking for these vandals. Now..." Both students gulped loudly as the teacher stood to his feet. "Kinn-san, you are obviously not qualified to pull off such an act, but Takashi-san... you most definitely are. Still, why punish those who are only trying to help the foolish." Naushi turned to the girl, eyeing her sharply. She remained still, trying not to show her fear. Suddenly, something in the teacher’s demeanor changed. He lunged at Bunny, causing them both to tumble into the desks behind her. Computers crashed to the floor, muffling Bunny’s screams. Teacher and student continued their struggle as they hit the ground. Naushi’s hands gleefully slipped around the frighten girl’s throat, cutting off her air supply. Bunny called out to her classmate in a choking voice, "Takashi-senpai.... help.... please...." Takashi watched, fearful and angry, as his friend gasped for help, yet he remained unmoving.
In a room down the hall another two students were slammed against a wall. Possessed by an inhuman strength, their teacher glared at them and ready to attack again. As the couple slowly rose to their feet, Oceanna assumed a protective stance in front of Yukio. Realizing that she had moved to a defensive position, he grasped her hand and pulled her behind him. "Yukio!" she shouted. He felt little fear of the monster his teacher had become, but what could he, a mere human do? An aura behind him began to grow, causing him to turn in time to see Oceanna’s uniform had been replaced by a blue sailor fuku. "CHAOTIC RAIN DANCE!" she screamed.
"A mere human," Yukio thought, as he watched in horror. "What can I do? How can I save her? How can I find the strength?" Hearing his cry, the small blue stone adorning the skirts of the water soldier emerged and floated in front of Yukio. It began to pulsate, its light growing stronger with each beat, until a blast of power engulfed Yukio. The clothes he wore grew warm and started to change. The warmth grew cooler, as armor replaced the fragile cloth on his body. Without thought, he grabbed for the hilt of his sword, the blade appearing, as if by magic, as he withdrew the weapon. He charged at the teacher, causing him to back away from the water soldier. Sailor Water's eyes widen with surprise as Yukio grabbed her hand once again and they made their escape.
Within the tiny confines of the principal’s office, Melody and Pepper had already transformed. They had gone there in hopes to find the owner, Kurio, but instead found themselves dead-locked in a battle with the secretary and vice principal. Accepting that they were out matched, Sailor Fire and Sailor Wind called upon their powers and were able to narrowly escape the possessed staff.
Bunny struggled on the ground as Naushi continued to hold her down. Tears ran down her eyes as she screamed in fear. "Takashi-senpai..! Takashi-senpai... Help! Help!" "This is all your fault! ALL YOUR FAULT" He shouted as he turned his head away from her and the struggle before him. Once again, dead silence overtook the normally chatty girl. Takashi turned back to see she was no longer trying to fight the man twice her size. She could feel her life slowly being drained by the monstrous enemy yet she remained still. Then her lips moved gently. "Takashi-senpai...." she whispered softly, "I'm sorry... to have caused you this trouble.... I won't ask you... to be involved... any more... because I lov...." Her voice became too low to hear but Takashi's eyes widened. He looked down at the girl who was on the verge of losing consciousness. Takashi cried out as she smiled faintly and closed her eyes. In a blinding instant he was transformed into the armored warrior he had been once before and knocked the possessed human away from the girl. He helped her up as she gaped at him with only half believing eyes. Finally she shook her dizziness away and transformed into Sailor Terra. Together, they escaped to the hallways.
Outside, the four soldiers met and stood with Yukio and Takashi, staring back at the building. Sure enough, an already growing number of possessed faculty members began to pour from the doors of the school. Each bore a single black rose on the breast pocket of their clothes-- the proof that their enemy, Kurio, was behind this. A pale- skinned woman with short black hair stepped from the masses, adorned in a school uniform. She snickered at them, "They are mine, all of them! I am finally strong enough, and with their energy I will be unstoppable." Sailor Fire called out, "Kurio-san, you are the new owner of the school? You really are the one behind this?"
"Mamo-chan!" Usagi squealed as he walked up to the group of the girls sitting outside the Hikawa shrine. She threw her arms around him, happily. "Mamoru-san," Ami questioned, "are you sure you feel well enough to be here?" "This is important. I couldn’t miss it," he answered, smiling down at Usagi. Luna took the floor, "I agree. We all need to stick together to figure this thing out. Mamoru-san, do you know? Mamoru-san?" A dark expression filled Mamoru’s face. " I feel something..."
"Kurio Kyoko does not really exist. She is a farce. This is the real me!" Kyoko screamed as her uniform faded, only to be replaced by a black and red sailor suit. "Sailor Earth!" "That can't be!" Melody screamed. "Mamoru-sama is the Earth's soldier! How can you claim to be--" "Mamoru-sama, Mamoru-sama..." she mocked. "I AM the soldier of the Earth! Mamoru is just an obstacle in my path. If there is only one protector, then how do you exist? Ah, I will have to kill you all and claim my right to the Earth." "You will never have the Earth," Sailor Water shouted, "Chaotic Rain Dance!!" "Elemental soldiers, it is futile to resist your destiny," the soldier laughed as she brushed away the attack. "We cannot all exist in the same world. Someone must perish for the other to live." The staff of the Planet Academy moved closer together, forming into one fierce creature. "How can you possibly expect to beat this amount of mindless energy? An army of soldiers with combined dark energy. Energy that they already hold within themselves-- everyone is evil!" "That's not true! These people do nothing but good here," Sailor Fire shouted. "Mint-san," the dark woman sighed, "They may suppress that feeling within them but it is there, waiting to escape!! Can't you see that? Isn't this proof enough?" Fire looked away in defeat, then ran at the dark soldier, calling out her burning attack powers. The dark soldier only laughed at her as Fire was bruised more that the target. "You see," Sailor Earth taunted, "even you fall before me with your anger, with your evil heart!" Sailor Earth moved her hand and a lightening blast knocked the wind out of the Fire soldier. She fell to the ground; red strands of hair falling in her face as her eyes were cast downward. The other soldiers ran to her. "Girls...." Fire wheezed, "we can't fight now... not like this..." The wall of a monster created by the faculty was pummeling the other soldiers. "What can we do?" Wind asked almost panicked by the senpai's words. Sailor Earth was readying her next attack wave when Sailor Fire stood to her feet. She called out in a cracked voice, "Fire WALL!" creating a high rising fire that distracted the enemy. The girls turned and ran in the opposite direction of the battle with the two male students close behind. Sailor Earth stared, frozen in shock. She blinked once, even twice before she realized that she had won. Quickly, she started to draw on the power of every student in the school. All were hers now to control, her thoughts joyfully concluded, and the elemental soldiers would be wiped out. End Episode 07.
