Eclipsed with darkness, evil envelops the hearts of all who dwell there and chaos reigns... *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hogosha and Rei walked down the street together in silence. They had just spent the day at the Crown Fruit Parlor with Usagi and the other girls drinking shakes and talking. Neither spoke a word as they weaved through the crowds of people on the street. As they left the Juuban Shopping District, the amount of people around them lessened and they were able to enjoy the cool night breeze. Even after a day of fun and forgetting the recent events, Rei couldn't help being troubled. Without realizing, she stared at Hogosha as she recalled all the strange vibes she had whenever she girl was near. It made her think that perhaps Hogosha knew more than she let on. Not only that, but it scared her a bit though she didn't understand why. The feeling had grown since her return from the Eclipsed Sun Kingdom. Maybe her senses had heightened. Sailor Sun had mentioned that they all were discovering stronger powers withing themselves. Or maybe it was just the fact that she and Hogosha had once possessed the same dark energy in their bodies. Noting the long looks she had been getting, Hogosha turned to her friend. "Rei-san, what's wrong?" "N-nothing... Why?" Rei blushed, turning her head away. "You just seem like you have something on your mind." "I'm fine," Rei replied. "Well, I'm glad you're back. I was worried when you disappeared." "Me too," a touch of regret in her voice. "Hogosha-chan, I'm sorry." The orange haired girl raised an eyebrow in question. "For what?" Rei struggled with herself. She wasn't used to apologizing to people. "That day I disappeared.... when I attacked you. I wasn't myself." Hogosha waved the apology away. "Don't worry about it." The two resumed their journey in silence. When Rei was like this, quiet and thoughtful, Hogosha felt closest to her. Sharing the quiet of the night felt refreshing. ****************** When they had returned home, each went to their separate rooms and got ready for bed. Hogosha loosened her hair from its usual style and swiped through the fiery mane with her brush. She smiled at herself in the mirror. Suddenly, she felt a pull on her psyche. For a brief instance the image in the mirror changed to that of the pink haired child, then it was gone as quickly as it appeared. Hogosha dove into bed and squeezed her eyes shut. "Oh, please make this stop," she begged. "I'm so confused. Why is this happening to me? Who is that girl?" A restless sleep soon settled on Hogosha. Once again haunting images filled her dreams, but this time they were different. A lone figure stood before her, bathed in ethereal light. Even though the distress was apparent in her eyes, the woman still gave an air of stately grace. Overwhelmed, Hogosha turned away to study her surroundings. They stood in the middle of four columns, which supported the ceiling of what appeared to be a shrine. A large candelabra hung from the high ceiling. The golden light from its candles played along the white marble walls and floor of the room. When Hogosha finally brought her gaze back to the silver haired woman, it seemed her distress had deepen. She pleaded with a voice that was only too familiar to Hogosha, "Please protect the princess. My daughter needs your help, Hyperion." "How can I protect her my Queen?" The words fell from her lips automatically. "You'll find a way." Hogosha glanced down at her outfit to discover she had changed into Sailor Sun. The queen smiled, then spoke one last time, "You must not let the dark forces take her--" The rest of her sentence was drowned out by screams. The walls of the shrine began of fall apart. Sailor Sun watched in horror, the kingdom fall to ashes. She then saw the bodies of the princess and prince floating lifeless. "Oh, no," Sailor Sun cried, "Must it always end this way?" A beam of bright light filled the sky, blurring her vision. When she could see again, the scene had changed. Sailor Sun felt a tiny hand grab hold of her own. She found the pink haired girl smiling at her. She, too, wore a sailor uniform. Pink tinted wings extended from her back. "An angel?" Sailor Sun wondered to herself, then demanded out loud, "Who are you? Why do you haunt me?" "I have been trying to get your attention. You see, you're in my body," the child answered. "If this is your body then where is mine?" "My life force was used to bring about yours. We are two souls sharing one body, Hogosha-san." Sailor Sun stared, speechless. She just listened as Chibi Moon continued, "We must come to a compromise or we'll wear ourselves out. We have been fighting each other for too long." "But what can we do?" Sailor Sun inquired. "Use my body until your mission is complete." "I'm not even sure what my mission is. How will I know when it's over?" "You'll know," Chibi Moon reassured. Her expression turned to one of fear. "I'm so scared here by myself." "You're not by yourself..." Sailor Sun gathered the little soldier into her arms. Chibi Moon squeezed her eyes shut as tears rolled down her face. "...I'm with you." "Please, do me a favor... kick Usagi for me, would ya? I'm tired now. Good night." Sailor Sun smiled as Chibi Moon drifted to sleep. She held the child for a moment and closed her eyes as well. The weight in her arms ceased as she felt a strange warmth fill her. ****************** Hogosha slowly opened her eyes. She squinted at the early morning sunlight that entered her room. She sat up, remembering the dream she had. It was still fresh in her mind and her hope soared. Throwing off her blankets, she rushed to the mirror and stared hard at her reflection. She stood there for a long while, but alas, it never changed! It was just the same old Hogosha that smiled back at her. "Could it be? Could this new found feeling I have be freedom? Oh, thank you Chibi Usa- chan!" She kissed the cool glass, then ran to get dressed.
Usagi was walking down the street, when from out of nowhere, a young girl barreled into her. Both were knocked to the ground and each rubbed her sore heads as they sat up. "Heheh... Hogosha-chan?" Usagi looked at her in disbelief. "What are you so excited about?"
Hogosha jumped to her feet, pulling Usagi with her. "It's the start of a new day! Can't you feel the great energy in the day?" "Umm... Sure... energy. You want to join me? I'm going to the grocery store for mama." "Sounds great!" Hogosha grinned. Usagi thought to herself, "She sure is acting different. I've never seen her be this happy in all the time I've know her. Funny, I've always felt like Chibi Usa was close to me when Hogosha-chan was around, but now it seems like she's somehow further. I hope she's alright." ****************** Meanwhile, a meeting was being held at the Hikawa Shrine. The girls had gathered in Rei's bedroom. "Since we are all here let's begin," Luna said. "Wait, where is Usagi-chan?" Minako inquired. Rei rolled her eyes to the ceiling. "She's probably still asleep, the lazy cow. That odango couldn't be on time if her life depended on it!" "Actually," Luna interrupted. "Ikuko asked her to go to the store, so she can't be here. I'll fill her in later tonight." Red crept into Rei's face. "Oh..." Artemis waved his paw. "Back to our discussion. This new soldier seems to be extremely powerful." "Yes, she has powered up our attacks immensely, or as she put it, she showed us the path. I can feel it deep within me, even when I'm not transformed," Ami commented. Makoto nodded her head. "Me, too. But where has she come from?" Minako looked down in thought, then at the cats. "I don't remember her from our past on the moon. Luna, Artemis, how about you?" "I don't remember there ever being a Sailor Sun fighting in Queen Serenity's Court," Artemis replied. Luna shook her head. "Me either. I didn't even think that the Sun was inhabited. I thought Serenity wiped out all of those foul beings that had lived there." "Eh? You mean people had once lived on the Sun?" Minako lifted Luna by the scruff of her neck. "Well, yes," Luna admitted as she was placed back on Rei's bed. "They were alien invaders who had threaten the peace of the Silver Millennium, but Queen Serenity banished them to the sun." "Hmm... I wonder who she could be." Rei shrugged, then changed the subject, "You know, Hogosha-chan seems to be doing well. I saw her bolt out of her room today filled with such amazing strength and happiness. I've never seen her like that before." "Maybe all the evil that was inside her has finally left," Minako suggested. "She's finally starting to live a normal life." ****************** After having a horrendous time at the store, the two girls made it back to Usagi's house. They walked into the kitchen, arms heavily laded with bags. Hogosha helped Usagi begin to put up the groceries. She was about to suggest they go for some ice cream when she spotted a small mug on the counter. She lost her chipper mood when she picked it up to read the pink lettering on it. Scrawled across in English was the name, 'Chibi Usa'. She felt a burden in her heart, remembering she would lose this body when her mission was complete. The body that owned this little cup. She blinked back the tears that threaten to fall. Hogosha placed it back on the counter. Usagi noticed Hogosha was staring at the mug. "That's my cousin, Chibi Usa's cup. She uses it when she comes to visit. She isn't here now, but she will be back soon." "She's here now, Usagi. She's here now..." Hogosha wished she could speak her thoughts, but dared not. She shook her head clear and quickly finished unpacking the food. Quickly, she excused herself and left the house before she did anything rash. Usagi was wondering why Hogosha left in such a hurry, when the phone rang. "Hello? Oh! Mamo-chan, I'm so glad to hear from you!" She squealed in delight. "It's good to talk to you too, Usako. One of the reasons I'm calling is because I wanted to talk to you about last night." "Eh?" Mamoru went on, "I didn't get a chance to tell you, but Sailor Sun knows who I am. My real identity, I mean." "What!? How did she find that out?" Usagi questioned. "I don't know. But last night she came right to my door and told me you were in trouble." Usagi interrupted, "Well, maybe she was just faking that she knew." "Yeah... I've been going over it in my mind, but I think she really did know. Besides, if she didn't know then she knows now. I transformed in front of her." "You what!?" She screamed into the phone. "I transformed in front of her," he repeated. "At the time, there was no choice. Now what we have to figure out is what to do about it." Usagi bit her lip in silence, hoping an answer would pop into her head. She never had been good with coming up with solutions for these types of situations. ****************** Hogosha walked aimlessly down the store lined street in the shopping district of Juuban. She couldn't believe how tempted she had been to tell Usagi the whole truth. That she was Sailor Sun, and she knew where Chibi Usa was. "What would it have helped anyway?" She stopped in front of a window which displayed several television sets. Hogosha watched part of the news, which was airing on the screens. She was shocked when the pictures turned fuzzy, then completely black. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. "That's strange. It feels like someone is watching me." She turned and squinted into the dark alleyway near her. A huge silhouette occupied the space. Hogosha moved on, trying to ignore the new presence. Alpha Centauri watched silently in the darkness as Hogosha scuttled away. His mask hid the conflicting emotions that showed on his face. He longed to be with her; have her by his side again. He also felt relief that she was alive. Centauri knew he shouldn't have come down seeking her. He had run the risk of her safety by doing so, but he just had to see her. "What does she see in this planet? It is chaotic and the inhabitants are so weak. Yet, she is happy. I better return before my absence is noticed." With that Centauri disappeared. Although Hogosha no longer felt like she was watched, she still could not shake the uneasiness. She stopped outside the Ice Cream Shop, but did not go in. For some reason she wasn't hungry. Instead, Hogosha made her way to the Juuban Public Park. She was drawn to a certain section in particular and ended up next to a wooden bench, shaded by several trees. As inviting as the seat looked, Hogosha remained standing. She wondered in her mind, "It felt just like something pulled me here. Why? I've never been to this part of the park, so what could this place hold for me? Maybe not me, but rather Chibi Usa--" Her thoughts were cut short by a sudden chill that entered the air. Hogosha did a double take, surprised to see a gray haired girl frowning at her. Unsure what to do, Hogosha started to leave. The girl called out to her, "Do you know who you are?" "Huh? Don't most people ask for the time?" She grinned at Hogosha. "You're evil. You just don't know it." Hogosha turned to face her. She was shocked to find girl's eyes were glowing bright blue. Her hands were raised, and a icy ball of energy was forming around them. The girl's clothes changed into a black and blue body suit. Her blue chiffon skirt appeared at the same time the white streak in her hair did. Polaris sent forth the channeled energy, calling, "Ice SHADE!" The attack struck the ground as Hogosha dodge. She ran out of the park, then into the closest building she could find, a local dress shop. Polaris followed her into the store, sending all the customers outside screaming. Hogosha pulled out her winged brooch and shouted, "Golden Aura Power, MAKE UP!" Polaris managed to catch sight of Sailor Sun's transformation. Stunned only for a minute by her discovery, she readied for the battle. When the transformation was finished, Polaris blasted energy at her. It missed its intended target again, hitting the floor. Polaris decided to turn her mistake to her advantage. She concentrated her power on the floor. Sailor Sun was confused by this, but decided it would be a perfect time to attack. She had just raised her staff when an object reached out of the ground, grabbing her arm. The Luminous Star Rod dropped from her hand and the object holding her morphed from its icy state into an arm. Sailor Sun held up her free hand, calling, "Sun BURST!" Polaris dodged her power easily. Another icy hand grabbed Sailor Sun's free arm, immobilizing her. Polaris flew above her, gloating over her victory. "Well, looks like I will avenge Sirius-sama's humiliation after all. I'll give you one thing, though. You are very powerful, Solaris, even as a human." "Solaris?" Sailor Sun wondered, "I know that name from somewhere." "I think this is a nice burial ground, don't you? I should have done this a long time ago." Polaris' body began to glow with an uncanny light. She held out her arms as if to summon the heart of all evil into her body. The blood lust in her eyes could not be mistaken, as she prepared to destroy Sailor Sun. End Episode 11.
